Connector algebras for C/E and P/T nets' interactions

چکیده
A quite flourishing research thread in the recent literature on component-based systems is concerned with the algebraic properties of different classes of connectors. In a recent paper, an algebra of stateless connectors was presented that consists of fivekinds of basic connectors, namely symmetry, synchronization, mutual exclusion, hidingand inaction, plus their duals, and it was shown how they can be freely composed in seriesand in parallel to model sophisticated “glues”. In this paper we explore the expressivenessof stateful connectors obtained by adding one-place buffers or unbounded buffers to thestateless connectors. The main results are: i) we show how different classes of connectorsexactly correspond to suitable classes of Petri nets equipped with compositional interfaces, called nets with boundaries; ii) we show that the difference between strong and weaksemantics in stateful connectors is reflected in the semantics of nets with boundaries bymoving from the classic step semantics (strong case) to a novel banking semantics (weakcase), where a step can be executed by taking some “debit” tokens to be given back duringthe same step; iii) we show that the corresponding bisimilarities are congruences (w.r.t.composition of connectors in series and in parallel); iv) we show that suitable monoidalitylaws, like those arising when representing stateful connectors in the tile model, can nicelycapture concurrency (in the sense of step semantics) aspects; and v) as a side result, weprovide a basic algebra, with a finite set of symbols, out of which we can compose all P/Tnets with boundaries, fulfilling a long standing quest. 1998 ACM Subject Classification: F.1.1; F.4.3.

Quasicompact and Riesz unital endomorphisms of real Lipschitz algebras of complex-valued functions
We first show that a bounded linear operator $ T $ on a real Banach space $ E $ is quasicompact (Riesz, respectively) if and only if $T': E_{mathbb{C}}longrightarrow E_{mathbb{C}}$ is quasicompact (Riesz, respectively), where the complex Banach space $E_{mathbb{C}}$ is a suitable complexification of $E$ and $T'$ is the complex linear operator on $E_{mathbb{C}}$ associated with $T$. Next, we pr...

متن کاملMULTIHADRON PRODUCTION FOR e e FOR FROM 50 TO 61 GeV, C. M. ENERGIES AND COMPARISON WITH MULTIHADRON PRODUCTION IN HADRONIC INTERACTIONS
Average values of< 1- T >where T is the thrust are presented for e: e: AMY data and are compared with their values in hadronic interactions. As far as possible, similar analysis techniques have been employed in the two different interactions. Similar variation with E is observed for this average in both data. The values of < PT> and < PL > relative to the thrust axis in e e are simila...

For the Fr'{e}chet algebras $(A, (p_k))$ and $(B, (q_k))$ and $n in mathbb{N}$, $ngeq 2$, a linear map $T:A rightarrow B$ is called textit{almost $n$-multiplicative}, with respect to $(p_k)$ and $(q_k)$, if there exists $varepsilongeq 0$ such that$$q_k(Ta_1a_2cdots a_n-Ta_1Ta_2cdots Ta_n)leq varepsilon p_k(a_1) p_k(a_2)cdots p_k(a_n),$$for each $kin mathbb{N}$ and $a_1, a_2, ldots, a_nin A$. متن کاملConnector Algebras, Petri Nets, and BIP
In the area of component-based software architectures, the term connector has been coined to denote an entity (e.g. the communication network, middleware or infrastructure) that regulate the interaction of independent components. Hence, a rigorous mathematical foundation for connectors is crucial for the study of coordinated systems. In recent years, many different mathematical frameworks have ...
